I’m curious about how things work and skeptical of answers that stop too early.

I tend to zoom out. A database decision is also a reliability decision, a cost decision, an ownership decision, and eventually a debugging problem for someone who was not in the room.

I enjoy understanding the theoretically correct version of a system, then deciding how much of it the situation actually needs. Sometimes the right architecture is less architecture.

I’m comfortable questioning an established direction, including one proposed by someone more senior. I’m equally interested in finding out that I’m wrong.

I care about the capability behind a title or credential more than the label itself. The same standard applies to my own claims.
